Apple iPhones have every so often  hit the headlines  in the  gadget world and now it seems  they are trying to build up some heat with their discounted iBook at  just  $399.99.

Buy.com is currently offering refurbished Apple iBook G4 laptops for $399.99 , including shipping .The Apple iBook is featured with

  • a 12.1″ screen display,
  • a 1.33GHz PowerPC G4 processor,
  • 1 GB of RAM,
  • 40 GB hard drive and
  • comes with OS X 10.5.
  • iBook also comes equipped with a slot-loading DVD/CD-RW drive.

The  machine is capable of doing all your everyday tasks like surfing the Web, checking e-mail, and working with simple documents.

The Apple iBook G4 laptop, released in late 2003 and discontinued ever since, has a lot of similarity with netbooks. They both have low-performance processors, small screens and hard drive storage space, and relatively low prices. However the weight of the iBook is greater than that of the average netbook.

Well how fare the deal is could only be known after getting ones hands on the product but a 30 days warranty that comes with it  may be  dicey . But on a positive side having a portable Mac that will run Leopard for under $400 from a retailer is pretty cheap too.

Apple is also getting into developing  their own custom semiconductors for use in thier devices–namely the iPhone and iPod touch  and is besides rumored about  shirking  away Intel’s low-power “Atom” option. CNET views it as Apple – Intel Rivalry stating the increased Apple’s portable devices  marketshare a key reason.

Well the brawl for supremacy is a never-ending tale in the electronic world where every dawn spectates  a new invention. All we need are products that offer consumer satisfaction and complete return on high  investments we make.
