Google launches a Real-Time Analytics tool

How much traffic does a particular tweet send to your site? How many people are currently active on your blog? Google has just launched a new real-time web analytics tool, that would provide you with the answers to these questions.

“Google Analytics does a great job analyzing past performance. Today we’re very excited to bring real time data to Google Analytics with the launch of Google Analytics Real-Time: a set of new reports that show what’s happening on your site as it happens,” the company wrote in a blog post .

With this real-time analytics features, website owners can gauge the performance of a particular post or identify the traffic that a particular Tweet or a Facebook share brings, almost immediately on the analytics platform. This new feature can provide you with some valuable data that you can use to improve your website content and make your social media marketing more effective.

Google has also launched a new, premium version of its analytics toolkit for those who want to derive more out of this platform. The company has not revealed the price of this new service, but stated that it will be available for users in the U.S., Canada and Britain.

The Real-Time reports are available only in the new version of Google Analytics. So, if you’re not already using the new version, you can switch to the new one by clicking the “New Version” link in the top right side of Google Analytics. Real-Time reports currently appear in the Dashboards tab, though they will be moved to the Home tab in the updated interface next week.
