Tom Jenkins and Simon Sharp of the commercial production company, The Theory, have used Google Street View to create an impressive short film. The video entitled, “Address is Approximate” represents a lonely desk robot that longs to escape from the dark confines of the office. He embarks on a virtual adventure trip to California from New York, using a toy car and Google Maps Street View.

To create the video, Jenkins and Sharp used a Canon 5d MkII and connected it to the software program called Dragon Stop Motion. They spruced up the video using Adobe After Effects and edited it using Avid Media Composer. The background music in the video is created by The Cinematic Orchestra, and the track is called “Arrival of the Birds”.

The video has received rave reviews from the audience. The Washington Post, reports that the Google’s Larry Page posted on his Google+ saying, “It’s poetic and charming, so wanted to share it — StreetView meets Toy Story.”
