Apple might already be preparing for the launch of its next iPhone model.
Apple-related news site 9to5Mac reports that Apple might launch iPhone 5 this summer. Several sample devices have been floating around and one of these might be the final version of the iPhone 5, according to a source from Foxconn, China.
9to5Mac also points out some of the features of the new iPhone model, including a 4-inch display, and a form factor unlike that found in the current iPhone 4 and 4S. The sample devices are symmetrical in thickness, slightly longer/wider, and don’t have the teardrop shape,as suggested by the rumors leading up to the iPhone 4S unveiling.
Apple reported record-breaking sales in the last quarter. The company sold 37.04 million iPhones and 15.43 million iPads and generated over $17.5 billion in cash flow during the month December.
“We’re thrilled with our outstanding results and record-breaking sales of iPhones, iPads and Macs. Apple’s momentum is incredibly strong, and we have some amazing new products in the pipeline,” Apple CEO Tim Cook stated.
Apple is also opening new retail outlets to to further boost its sales. The technology giant has partnered with retail giant Target, with the plan of opening 25 new Apple stores in select Target locations this year. Reports also claim that Apple is planning to open retail stores in India.
