Amazon officially enters India with online shopping site Junglee.com
Amazon officially enters India today, with its new online shopping site Junglee.com. This new online shopping service, according to the company, will help customers to find and discover products from several online and offline retailers in India and from Amazon.com. Junglee would organize products from Indian and global brands, and feature buying options from various online and offline retailers, including Amazon.com, all in one single place.
“We are excited to give customers in India a single online starting point where they can shop a wide selection of products sold by local and global retailers, and make informed purchasing decisions. We’re relentlessly focused on constantly improving the customer experience and growing selection every day, making it convenient for customers to find anything online,” said Amit Agarwal, Vice President, Amazon.com in the company press release.
At present, customers can shop more than 1.2 crore products and view buying options from hundreds of online and offline retailers, including Reebok, Microsoft India Store, The Bombay Store, Fabindia, Bata India Limited, Dabur Uveda, UniverCell, Homeshop18, Gitanjali, Hidesign, and Amazon.com on Junglee. The product categories include books, mobile phones, cameras, toys & games, beauty and healthcare products, baby products, pet products, movies & TV, clothing, jewellery and so on.
Junglee.com leverages Amazon’s search technology to make it convenient for customers to navigate the selection and find what they are looking for quickly. The site also uses the same recommendation engine technology as Amazon.com, allowing customers to discover products by viewing the “Most Frequently Viewed Products” or “Customers Who Viewed This Product Also Viewed” lists. Customers can read detailed product information including customer reviews, price, and shipping speed to make informed purchasing decision.
India’s e-commerce sector is booming, and Amazon’s plan to enter India was predicted long before the company revealed it. Now, with the global e-commerce giant establishing its presence in India, the competition among e-commerce sites is expected to heat up more.

Amazon’s Junglee is trying to make shopping easier for indian retailers but its not a shopping search engine like Cheapestinindia.com. This sites has nearly all e shopping sites that i can count and the price listing is unmatched. Truly all products are cheapestinindia.
