DeNA, the operator of Japan’s leading social gaming platform Mobage and Chinese search giant Baidu have entered a new partnership.

Under this new alliance, Baidu will offer the Mobage platform and its games on its Baidu-Yi smartphones in China.

Baidu Yi is a mobile software platform developed by Baidu, that integrates Baidu’s search box, cloud services and original mobile apps to provide enhanced mobile web experience for China-based users. The platform is compatible with Android apps. Baidu’s official mobile app store, the Yi Store, that comes pre-loaded on its smartphones, will now have a dedicated section for Mobage.

“With just two taps from the default screen, users of Baidu Yi smartphones can access a list of high-quality mobile games in Chinese on the Mobage platform for Android,” DeNA states in a company press release.

The social gaming market is becoming highly competitive, and game developers worldwide are teaming up with other companies to expand their reach and build their audience globally.  Last month, DeNA also announced that the company is establishing a joint venture with China’s leading online game developer NetDragon to develop and operate mobile social games for the Chinese market.
