Lady Gaga launches her own Social Networking Site ‘LittleMonsters.com’
After rocking the Twitter town with 18 million+ followers, Lady Gaga is further boosting her social media presence by launching her own social networking site.
The site called LittleMonsters.com is designed for Gaga fans to share and create photos and videos, as well as promote the things they like. CNN reports that the site will be designed a lot like Pinterest, the fast-emerging mobile app that lets users “pin” locations and items that they like. The new social networking platform would not only allow Gaga fans to interact with her, but also let her fans connect with one another
LittleMonsters.com, which is currently in beta testing, invite-only phase, has been designed by Palo Alto-based startup Backplane, a company Gaga reportedly has a 20 per cent stake in. Backplane is also planning to launch several other similar celebrity social networks that allow stars to directly interact with their fans.
“We definitely have an amazing opportunity here to have millions of users. We are going to be bigger than Facebook and Google some day,” Backplane’s co-founder, Joey Primiani, told Business Insider.
What do you think about this new trend of celebrity-focused social networking sites? Would you like to be part of such celebrity-focused social networking sites, or prefer following celebrities in other generic social networking sites like Twitter and Google+?
