Facebook beats Yahoo as the most-popular website for video content

Facebook is no doubt an online hub for images, and now the social networking site is becoming a leading website for finding video content. A recent report from comScore reveals that Facebook has trumped Yahoo as the Internet’s most popular video site.

According to comScore, Facebook has around 327,801 videos, and each viewer spends more than 20 minutes watching videos on the site.

Google and its video site Youtube still leads the online video market, with around 36,877, 798 videos and each viewer spending more than 1336 minutes on the site.

Other notable findings from comScore’s July 2012 report include:

• 85.5 percent of Internet users in the U.S. viewed online video

• The duration of the average online content video was 6.7 minutes, while the average online video ad was 0.4 minutes.

• Video ads accounted for 20.7 percent of all videos viewed and 1.6 percent of all minutes spent viewing video online.
