Between innumerable Facebook posts, Twitter updates, emails and chat messages, is it becoming tougher than ever to be heard by people? Social media is no doubt an essential tool of communication in our personal and professional life, but the great volume of data available on these platforms, is making us selective about the information we take in and the ones we ignore. With over 4,600 tweets sent every second on Twitter, and over 3,500 photos uploaded on Facebook every second, are we struggling to be heard by others.

According to Whitepages.com, 71% of tweets go unnoticed, and only 12 % of our friends on Facebook notice our posts. Take a look at this infographic to see how social media is leading to potential communication breakdown.
