  • How to Schedule Messages by Bulk Upload in Buzzom Premium

    Buzzom Premium gives you the ability to schedule your messages which can be posted at any desired time to your social networks. All you need to do is specify the date and time of the post and the system will update it for you in Twitter, Facebook, Facebook pages, LinkedIn and MySpace. Scheduling messages one by one can be tiresome at times and if you like to schedule a lot of messages at once, you’d rather go for Bulk Upload.

    Below are the steps for scheduling messages in bulk as CSV or Excel.

    Step 1: Click on ‘Upload Excel’.

    Step 2: Click on ‘Download CSV’ or ‘Download Excel’.

    Step 3: Put your Twitter ID in the ‘Username’ column, message in the ‘Message Column. Use Y and N for the next four columns based on whether you want them to be scheduled for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace respectively. If you have mentioned Y for Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, Please make sure that you have associated these network accounts to your main Twitter account. If no, please go to ‘Account Management’ and associate them first.

    Step 4: If you want the messages to repeat, please type the following options:
    RD: for Repeat Daily
    RW: for Repeat Weekly
    RBW: for Repeat BiWeekly
    RM: for Repeat Monthly.

    Step 5: Type the correct date and time in ‘Schedule on’ column. Make sure you type a data and time which has not passed already.

    Step 6: Please save this file in your system and click on ‘Choose File’ in the box that’s already open in your browser. Click on ‘Ok’

    Step 7: Go to ‘Queued Status’ tab and check if the messages have been scheduled.

  • How to monitor your brand when people are not talking in your language

    If you are using Twitter for brand promotion, you might have faced the language barrier at some point or the other. This becomes a problem specially if the brand you are monitoring serves a global client. Most of the time we end up ignoring the language we don’t understand and that causes a loss in data which can give you a biased result in your analysis.

    If you have tried manually translating, you would know what a pain it is. If you haven’t, I would seriously ask you not to even consider the idea. You would eventually give up after translating a couple anyway. Now I want to know what people are talking about Buzzom and I have a tool to monitor my brand ‘Buzzom’. I can see all that people are talking about Buzzom and also take necessary action and when I come across an update in a language I don’t understand, the translate button lets me translate the update in my language with just one single click.

    Though the transalation like any translation tool is not 100%  perfect and might give you broken sentences but nevertheless you get an idea on what the person is talking about.

    Whats interesting is that not only do I get to listen to these people but I can also reply to them in their language.

    The system shows the original language of the tweet. I can just write the message, select the language and click on reply.

    So now none of the Tweets will go ignored!

  • How to send personalized Direct Messages (DM) to Your Twitter Followers

    One of the most underused feature of Twitter must be the Direct Message (DM). It lets you send private messages to your friends in the network. It provides a better way to communicate more personally. There are many ways to use DMs in Twitter and one of the way is to send message to who ever follows you.It’s popularly know as Auto DM.

    There are many tools in the Internet that allows you to send auto DMs but Buzzom Premium does it in much better ways. Here I will explain the steps to be followed :

    1. Log on to Buzzom Premium (If you are not registered click here.)

    2. Click on Direct Message -> Auto DM’s. Below is the screen shot of what you will see.

    There are 3 ways of sending Auto DM to your new followers:

    1. Basic

    2. Draft and

    3. Personalized Messaging.

    1. Basic

    Check mark the ‘Enable DM’ and compose your message in the text box.

    Now you can either save the message as Draft or just Use It. Saving as Draft allows you to use it in future. Just “Use It” uses the message as your present Auto DM.

    2. Draft

    If you want to use the drafted message as you present DM message, click on Draft icon. You will be presented with an option to chose the messages like following.

    3. Personalized Message

    What does personalized message mean? Personalized mail means you can address to particular person that you are sending DM message to.

    In order to address the personal, just use the tag {name} like above. When you use this, all the message will have a personal look and feel.

  • Schedule messages to Facebook Fan pages and Send Personalized Welcome DM’s

    Yesterday we updated our social media marketing campaign to include Facebook fan pages. So now with Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn, you can also schedule your updates for Facebook Fan Pages.

    We have also introduced the ability to send personalized DM’s as welcome notes to your new followers on Twitter. Till now you could send the same customized DM which would go to all your followers but now you can send direct messages which would have the followers name included in the message. This is an attempt to make the message more personalized so that your followers can connect with you better.

    If you face any problem scheduling updates for Facebook fan pages, try the following steps:

    1) Go to ‘Account Management’ tab

    2) Click on the Facebook icon under “Profile Summary” icon for the account you want to associate the Facebook Fan page. A warning to disaccociate your account would appear, confirm and approve.

    3) Before moving on to the next step, make sure you have “Logged Out” from the facebook. If you not sure open Facebook and click on “Log Out”.

    4) Don’t click on the Facebook Icon again.

    5) You should be done now, go to the schedule status page and schedule away.

  • Buzzom rebranded and relaunched with new interface

    On May 29th 2010, Buzzom was launched with the new look and additional features. Now both buzzom premium and free services of buzzom are packed with new additional features. The changes might come with a shock for all the buzzom users how have been using buzzom to grow their followings and followers.

    Now Buzzom is no longer just a follow and unfollow tool but a serious platform where user can add more value to there online social experience. Few of the addition changes to the new buzzom are:

    • Multiple account management with Facebook and Twitter
    • User Time Line with replies, RTs, mentions and status updates
    • List View
    • Ability to hide applications, users and hast tags

    These are few of the major changes on the website and all these are free of cost.

    In the above image you can clearly see the new changes being highlighted. The Left-hand side bar contains the menus and all the other features. The people search bar is available all the time on the top header section. The middle column of the screen fills up with your recent status updates.

    The interface for the old features are still accessible but on the left side menu bar.The plan for the new buzzom look is a step towards creating a better social experience for the social networking sites.

    The other important features of the new buzzom interface is its HIDE function that lets you hide users, applications or any hastags from your twitter stream hence reducing spam in your timeline.

    For example, when you click on HIDE, you will be asked for options on what you hide, you can either hide the user, the hastags or the application in case the user uses a third party application.
