Posted on August 25th, 2010 No commentsBuzzom Premium gives you the ability to schedule your messages which can be posted at any desired time to your social networks. All you need to do is specify the date and time of the post and the system will update it for you in Twitter, Facebook, Facebook pages, LinkedIn and MySpace. Scheduling messages one by one can be tiresome at times and if you like to schedule a lot of messages at once, you’d rather go for Bulk Upload.
Below are the steps for scheduling messages in bulk as CSV or Excel.
Step 1: Click on ‘Upload Excel’.

Step 2: Click on ‘Download CSV’ or ‘Download Excel’.

Step 3: Put your Twitter ID in the ‘Username’ column, message in the ‘Message Column. Use Y and N for the next four columns based on whether you want them to be scheduled for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace respectively. If you have mentioned Y for Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, Please make sure that you have associated these network accounts to your main Twitter account. If no, please go to ‘Account Management’ and associate them first.
Step 4: If you want the messages to repeat, please type the following options:
RD: for Repeat Daily
RW: for Repeat Weekly
RBW: for Repeat BiWeekly
RM: for Repeat Monthly.Step 5: Type the correct date and time in ‘Schedule on’ column. Make sure you type a data and time which has not passed already.
Step 6: Please save this file in your system and click on ‘Choose File’ in the box that’s already open in your browser. Click on ‘Ok’
Step 7: Go to ‘Queued Status’ tab and check if the messages have been scheduled.

Schedule messages to Facebook Fan pages and Send Personalized Welcome DM’s
Posted on June 12th, 2010 1 commentYesterday we updated our social media marketing campaign to include Facebook fan pages. So now with Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn, you can also schedule your updates for Facebook Fan Pages.

We have also introduced the ability to send personalized DM’s as welcome notes to your new followers on Twitter. Till now you could send the same customized DM which would go to all your followers but now you can send direct messages which would have the followers name included in the message. This is an attempt to make the message more personalized so that your followers can connect with you better.

If you face any problem scheduling updates for Facebook fan pages, try the following steps:
1) Go to ‘Account Management’ tab
2) Click on the Facebook icon under “Profile Summary” icon for the account you want to associate the Facebook Fan page. A warning to disaccociate your account would appear, confirm and approve.
3) Before moving on to the next step, make sure you have “Logged Out” from the facebook. If you not sure open Facebook and click on “Log Out”.
4) Don’t click on the Facebook Icon again.
5) You should be done now, go to the schedule status page and schedule away.
We are currently working on a lot of things to help you manage your social media profiles in the most effective way. Thanks for all the suggestions coming our way. As always, we are most appreciative of your support.

Calculating your feed timing in Twitter
Posted on February 16th, 2010 2 commentsFeed Management is one of the most used feature in the Buzzom, but I have been receiving many mails on how best to use the feed tool and the different terms of the feature like cycle, repeat etc. Let me take you through the working of buzzom feed management and the best way to use them.

- Feed Management Screen Shot
Lets us go one by one:
FeedUrl : It is the location where you add the url of your feed.
After you add your feed url, you are given an option to choose your channel. You can choose both if you like. In the Channel box there are three key parameters to be set.
Number :This is the number of feed post you want to update per one cycle. But what is cycle? Cycle is the time period within which you want to check your feed updates. Read below.
Cycle of :Cycle is the time period which will control the flow of your feed to the channel. If you set it to 24 hrs, then you will be updating your channel once in every 24 hrs. In this case the repeat of your feed will be zero. But if you choose 12 hrs, then your feed will be checked every 12 hrs, which means twice in 24hrs, so your repeat will be 2.
In each cycle, the number of feed is posted as given by the user. If I set numbers to 6, it means that in one cycle 6 new feeds will be updated to the channel.
Here is the calculations:
Cycle : 2 hrs : Post = 24/2 = 12 hence repeat = 11
Cycle : 3 hrs : Post = 24/3 = 8 hence repeat = 7
Cycle : 4 hrs : Post = 24/4 = 6 hence repeat = 5
Cycle : 6 hrs : Post = 24/6 = 4 hence repeat = 3
Cycle : 8 hrs : Post = 24/8 = 3 hence repeat = 2
Cycle : 12 hrs : Post = 24/12 = 2 hence repeat = 1
Cycle : 24 hrs : Post = 24/24 = 1 hence repeat = 0This gives you the complete control of how your feeds are going to appear in the channel.
Signature : This is one of the most important aspect of the feed which will give you more visibility and click. It is similar to tags. Lets suppose if I add a feed URL of Buzzom/blog then I would add tags like #socialmedia #twitter on the signature, so that it can be tracked by twitter’s search. Remember, the signature must be less than 20 character.I hope this will help you decide which parameter to be set. If you have any queries please get to us atbuzzom@in-rev.com -
Track your Followers and UnFollowers Through Buzzom Premium
Posted on January 21st, 2010 2 commentsThe first rule in using Twitter efficiently is to understand your account better. Whether you are a marketer, an entrepreneur, website owner or a blogger, you need to keep yourself updated about how you have been growing in terms of Followers and Followings. Once you have crossed a hundred Followers/ Followings, its very difficult to keep track of new people joining your network. In addition to knowing about Followers and Followings, its equally important to know about people un-following you (removing you from their network).
To help you with this, Buzzom Premium offers ‘Account Tracker’. This lets you see the behavior of your account with just a click. You can now view:
Trend of people you are following
Trend of people following you
Trend of people un-following you

You also get to see the list of users for each of these graphs when you click on the data points. For instance you click on the data point corresponding to a particular date on ‘Your Un-Following Trend’, you will see the list of users who un-followed you on that particular day. You also have a choice of Following or Un-Following them from the list itself.

In addition, you can also see your daily, weekly and monthly growth in terms of percentages. So you know what actions you need to take to better your Twitter experience.

Reasons, why your Buzzom doesn’t work sometime.
Posted on July 20th, 2009 No comments
Twitter is not perfect. Remember this fact. Lots are gone into creating a better experience, especially when their are millions of people tweeting and following each other. Thus in this midst of technical sophistication, twitter has exposed its API, which is what makes all the third party twitter application exists. All the twitter applications utilizes Twitter API to access the data from twitter and work on it. This model of operation causes lag in the system, hence most of the API based applications are slow. Further, there is a limit imposed by the twitter, of maximum call that an application can make to twitter’s system.
Now, lets see how things work when you click on any buzzom’s operation. In simply steps:
1. User’s request is sent by Buzzom to twitter.
2. The request gets authenticated by the twitter.
3. The request then gets acknowledged by both the party.
4. Twitter serves the request on its server.
5. After completion, twitter sends the work completion status to the Buzzom.
6. Buzzom than makes an update to the user.So you can see different levels on which your operations are performed. Most of the time, the issue always reside in the twitter’s section because the system is heavily dependent upon the twitter’s API. Thus any issue unresolved with twitter’s API remains carried to the system utilizing them.
Further, any break in the operations in these 6 steps will cause for failure. The parameters affecting can be your interenet traffic and your allocated bandwidth, cause any twitter API Applications require lots of data transactions.
What can you do about it?
When ever you come across such anomolies, the best would be to wait. Why wait?? This is because most of the time user crosses their limit and it needs to be replenished by twitter. Thus waiting and clearing your cache and restarting fresh solves most of the problem related with such issues.
Some resources from the Twitter’s forum.
People you followed or un-followed appearing or not appearing in your profile
Fixed: Trouble un-following people
Can’t follow- hit a limit when I’m within my limits?
Therefore, if you are having any kind of random glitches in your operation then do give us the detailed description via email in buzzom@in-rev.com.

How to recieve interesting tweets in your Twitter Stream.
Posted on July 14th, 2009 1 commentTwitter’s updates have started to look like a stream of water flowing continuously. You get to see all kinds of interesting to stupid tweets. In this moving stream, its hard to find out tweets of your interest. Personally, when I see any interesting tweets, I click on the link, which takes me to the website, but when I like it and want to retweet them, I am lost :(. Ahh. Ya there are problems with these things.
But, I have found a way of getting interesting tweets on my stream. Well there is no trick here, its simply following interesting peoples. Ya you can wipe that disappointment from your face cause, following the right people is as hard as finding a water in the desert. Not to mention the RISE of BOTS in Twitter spamming with direct messages and redundant links.
Following Interesting people.
Log to buzzom.com and click on the People Search.

Right Hand side's menu bar
Now there are two ways to search for the people, through BIO or Tweets. You have to type the keyword that you are interested in. For me, lets see, Nanotechnology seems the hottest topic so I will go for it.

Search Text Bar
This will give you the list of people who have “Nanotechnology” or similar to “Nano” written in their profile. If you search by “Tweets”, you will recieve list of people whose tweets present Nanotechnology keyword. Here goes my list.

List of people from Search Result.
If you click on the detail, it will give you details of people. If you look at the list, you will find out that their are many interesting people related to nanotechnology. Now you just have to press the Follow button to start recieving their tweets. You can really enjoy this search, if you get the feel of it.
Just to show you how interesting it can get, I typed “Magician” in the search box to find out if their were any. Just what, this is the result.

Magician in Twitter
Conclusion
There are more to it that just search, for example, lets say, you want to learn Violin - OK why Violin, Don’t Ask me, its personal :). Just type of violinist and there you have it people who know about it. Follow them and get the most of it. Hasn’t the learning become so much interesting.
