Buzzom hosts its first Tweetup in Bangalore on Aug 20 [Updated]

Don’t you wonder who are the faces behind the tweets that fill your stream day in and day out. These friends have been a part of daily life through you frustration for a product or love for a brand, they have been patient listeners to your mundane activities. So its time you get to meet the real person behind those @’s.

Buzzom is organizing a TweetUp in Bangalore on August 20th. Its a casual meet intended for meeting Twitter friends sharing your thoughts off Twitter for once. The whole idea of this TweetUp is to meet followers, cross followers (someone else’s followers). We have restricted the seats to 50 so if you are in Bangalore, please RSVP and book your seats.

We have kept the agenda open for now but it would surely range from introduction, Twitter, Goodies and lots of fun.

Buzzom Team is looking for Investment

We have come a long way, from an internal tool to market our products in Twitter to a widely used Twitter application by the marketers.

We started Buzzom as a tool to help users follow and unfollow easily in Twitter. Many folks criticized us for building a spamming tool but we found many folks who enjoyed it too. This kept us moving.

From the day one, Buzzom was not a spamming tool. We hate spam as much as anyone does. There is spam by email bombarding, but mass emailing facility has its own advantage. Buzzom’s facility to provide follow-unfollow had its advantage too.

That was just a start for us. We kept innovating and working hard, and now we have crossed 1 million page views a month mark. This was a challenging journey but the team worked hard to make it look easy.

Buzzom is now a People Search engine, and a complete Twitter Application. Many analysts believe that our People Search, Twitin Account Management, and Feed Management are best globally in their individual space. We are proud to hear it.

PC World, Smart Company, Forbes, Shoutmeloud etc covered us recently, and we are more enthusiastic than ever to make the application better.

We do admit that we could have made Buzzom Profile, Statistics and Buzzom Desktop much better. We are working on them, and we promise to come back srong in these areas as well.

We have specialist MIS Reporting and Analytics Team, and soon you will see good Statistics and Analtics in Buzzom. This might not be limited to Twitter but include other social Media networks as well.

Buzzom has entered Facebook through Feed Management facility. We are working to integrate some features for other Social Networks like LinkedIn, Google Buzz, Orkut, MySpace, Digg, stumbleUpon, Youtube, SlideShare and many more.

Further, we have recently launched the premium version of Buzzom on January 5th which has been able to gain 100+ user with in few weeks with good response from the users.

We will keep innovating and working hard. And we are looking for strategic investors. We need the funds to fasten the growth. But we are choosy and will go only with investor who believes in Social Media and Web 2.0.

Building a Twitter Client? Get Buzzom Desktop Code for FREE

InRev Systems, the owner of Buzzom and NXY, has decided to release the code for Twitter Client Buzzom Desktop for FREE to the willful individual developers and companies. The only condition attached to the code is an agreement that the product built over it will have NXY.IN as the default URL Shortener.

The product is built in Microsoft .Net Framework, and it runs only in Windows OS. We release the code for FREE at the current stage but reserve the right not to release future versions or updates. We may however choose to make updates open as well.

This step is taken by InRev Systems to bring more innovation in the Twitter Application Space. We are looking to catch the interest of more individual contributors.

InRev Systems does not guarantee correctness of the code, and will not be responsible for future support as well. Interested parties can email us, get the code and build over it.

Calculating your feed timing in Twitter

Feed Management is one of the most used feature in the Buzzom, but I have been receiving many mails on how best to use the feed tool and the different terms of the feature like cycle, repeat etc. Let me take you through the working of buzzom feed management and the best way to use them.

Lets us go one by one:

FeedUrl : It is the location where you add the url of your feed.

After you add your feed url, you are given an option to choose your channel. You can choose both if you like. In the Channel box there are three key parameters to be set.

Number :This is the number of feed post you want to update per one cycle. But what is cycle? Cycle is the time period within which you want to check your feed updates. Read below.

Cycle of :Cycle is the time period which will control the flow of your feed to the channel. If you set it to 24 hrs, then you will be updating your channel once in every 24 hrs. In this case the repeat of your feed will be zero. But if you choose 12 hrs, then your feed will be checked every 12 hrs, which means twice in 24hrs, so your repeat will be 2.

In each cycle, the number of feed is posted as given by the user. If I set numbers to 6, it means that in one cycle 6 new feeds will be updated to the channel.

Here is the calculations:

Cycle : 2 hrs : Post = 24/2 = 12 hence repeat = 11

Cycle : 3 hrs : Post = 24/3 = 8 hence repeat = 7

Cycle : 4 hrs : Post = 24/4 = 6 hence repeat = 5

Cycle : 6 hrs : Post = 24/6 = 4 hence repeat = 3

Cycle : 8 hrs : Post = 24/8 = 3 hence repeat = 2

Cycle : 12 hrs : Post = 24/12 = 2 hence repeat = 1

Tweeting from multiple Account made easy.

Multiple Twitter Account has been the necessity for product marketing. Having individual twitter account for each product management is a must. Many twitter client applications has the facility to create multiple account but they lack one certain feature. It is the ability to tweet efficient and change between multiple account with easy.

Each time you switch between the accounts, your whole time line gets refreshed and take a lot of time. In order to tackle this problem, Buzzom Desktop has come out with a niche features of tweeting.

Buzzom team has been widely acclaimed for its web application among the twitter user and we all are thankful for the users. We have been continuously looking at the ways to bring a beneficial service to our users. Therefore, we had been working on a Desktop Application which brings our more that just the ability to tweet and view them but more than that.

In the above image, you can see your hidden users, there tweets will not appear in the timeline until you unhide them. Further, you already have a predefined users in the Other Group’s section whose tweets you can see even though you may not be following them. Buzzom Desktop provides a great space for viewing your tweets allowing you to read and respond to them easily. On the top of the application, there is a place to tweet and control your account. On the left hand there is all your hidden and buddies list of people.

There is also a place to search through the tweets to find the relevant topic you  are searching for. The search can be done via content, location, user and bio.

Get yourself a Buzzom Badges

Buzzom has come up with a Buzzom Badge which you can put in your websites or blogs. This is how you can access the buzzom badge, by clicking on the Badges on the right hand side of the menu bar.
